Terramycin®/LA Injectable Solution is a unique, patented formulation containing 200 mg/mL oxytetracycline activity in a 2-pyrrolidone base. The unique formulation provides therapeutic Terramycin® blood levels sustained over a three to five day period in cattle, sheep and pigs following a single I/M injection of 1mL/10kg bodyweight. A single injection is sufficient to cover most therapeutic indications. Terramycin®/LA is a sterile, clear, stable, ready-to-use solution.
Terramycin® is a broad spectrum antibiotic and its use is indicated for the treatment and control of conditions caused by, or associated with, Terramycin®-susceptible organisms. A large number of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, certain Mycoplasma species, Chlamydia and Rickettsiae are sensitive to Terramycin®.
Indicated for alimentary tract infections, respiratory infections, genitourinary infections, septicaemias, as an adjunct to surgical interference, control of various topical infections, e.g. following wounds, bites, etc. and infections of unknown aetiology where broad spectrum activity is required.
Further indications include anaplasmosis, actinobacillosis, Blackleg, footrot, mastitis, metritis, navel/joint ill, post-parturient infections, pneumonia, leptospirosis, enzootic abortion, eperythrozoonosis and pink eye.
Single dose of 1mL per 10kg by I/M injection supplies 3-5 days therapeutic cover.
To minimise local tissue irritation at the injection site, it is recommended that the dosage be divided and administered into separate injection sites. Doses should be divided, with not more 5mL at any one site for sheep
